Perhaps among the surviving and well-known branches of Islam, the Isma'ilism has shown a more trend to the esoteric interpretation of the Qur'an. The relationship between the two levels of appearance and interior is one of the common beliefs between Sufism and Isma'ilism. They have sought an intimate understanding of the Qur'an and have used interpretation in understanding the jurisprudential verses, in addition to observing the presence of Shari'a. According to Sufism, the science of interpretation is not limited to a particular individual; it is based on the personal experience of individuals and is adopted more in line with Sufi authorities. Whereas in the Isma'ilism branch, interpretation is dedicated to people who are in the invitation hierarchy. Therefore, their descriptions are mostly sectarian and in line with the confirmation of Ismaili beliefs. The present study aimed to extract and explain the commonalities and differences interpretive approaches of Qāḍī Al-Nu' mān Maghribi and Abd al-Razzaq al-Kashani in the connection between jurisprudence and mysticism by examining their jurisprudential interpretations.
