Based on the cognitive theory of metaphor, abstract concepts are understood based on experiential concepts. There are many evidences of this way of conceptualization in the Holy Quran. The frequency of the word faith in the Quran shows the central role of faith in spiritual life. The works and manifestations of faith are one of the most important aspects of faith, which are emphasized a lot in the Quran. In the current research, 23 verses related to works of faith in 9 areas of origin have been studied with the aim of analyzing the conceptualization pattern of faith in the Qur'an. Studies show that name-mappings such as "faith is a white face", "faith is the guidance of the heart", "faith is salvation from fire", "faith is a profitable business", "faith is a light running in the forward and right direction of believers to It is towards heaven", "faith is guidance to the straight path" and "faith is the exit from darkness to light" have been proposed for the metaphorical conceptualization of the works of faith. Also, the schemas of the place and the vessel are also used to illustrate the dignity and benefit of divine mercy due to faith.

There are a lot of conceptual metaphor for introducing “life” in Quran and Nahj al-Balaghah; including the metaphor of plantification that has been used in various ways to draw dimensions of life. This analytical-descriptive study tried to use the concepts of conceptual metaphor to analyze the projection of the source domain of "plants" on the target domain of the "life" in the text of Qur'an and Nahj-ol-Balaghah, in order to clarify that in the text of Quran and Nahj al-Balaghah which concepts of the source domain of “plants” projected on the target domain of “life”. What are the most important mappings of this projection process? And what is the role of using the conceptual metaphor of "life is agriculture" in explaining the Islamic perspective toward life? The results of this study showed that in the text of Qur'an and Nahj al-Balaghah through plantification, a variation between life and plants and related terms has been created which is related to the movement of human being from birth to death and reaching the final destination of life. .

Motion is a basic, universal and complex concept that is represented in different languages by different surface expression .Talmy´s studies are the beginning of cognitive linguistic on the subject of movement ;Talmy explains the systematic relations between linguistic surface expression and profound expression. The present article examines the conceptualization of subjective motion verb “Zdahaba” in the Holy Qur'an.The data in this paper, in a figurative analysis, investigate how the motion event is represented. The body of the present study consists of56verses48surface expression were observed as a moving event.28metaphorical and20non metaphorical cases of physical movement were discovered. The results of this study show that all four main components of the motion event, as well as the two sub-components of cause and manner, are present in the studied propositions. The highest frequency among the main components is related to the path component and the moving component of 20 cases, then the figure & ground component to 19 cases to the sub-components, to 13 cases. Another result of the present paper is explaining the occurrence of the common surface expression of the concept of "going" in the concepts of "being eliminated","destroying" and"dying".

Al-Qiyamah is one of the names of the hereafter in the Qur'an that has been used in all applications as a Yum-i-Qiyamah compound, Qur'anic applications indicate that the meaning of Yum-i-Qiyamah is the time of judgment. In the lexicons' works this concept of matter [Q W M], And it is meant to rise from the grave or stand before God, commentators have two views ,stand up from the grave and stand up to God. The study of this material in the Semitic language family illustrates the creative structure of the vertical conceptual schema, which has a rich basis,a concept that can be considered for this material then the concept in the form of a conceptual metaphor as another creative structure in meaning. The concept of metaphor has been used in the language of the Qur'an and the conceptual metaphor has been created, the metaphor of the metaphor on which multiple micro-metaphors are coherent, and the concept of "al-Qiyama" in the Quran is intended for the target audience. ,Conceptualizations about the concept of "al-qiyama" and examining its differences with the concept of "Ba'ath" In some works synonymous with it, another issue has been addressed in the present study

Regarding the fact that quite a few quranic messages have been expressed implicitly, present study is an attempt to investigate the orientational metaphor denoted by the term Hayat in Quran based on the conceptual metaphor theory. In doing so, translated version of Makarem, Almizan and Nemuneh interpretations of Quran were used for gathering the data. The data were then analyzed. Regarding the orientational metaphors of the term Hayat, those of up, down and near were obtained but the orientational metaphor of far has not been used. The orientational metaphor of up demonstrated the concepts such as: good and blessing, and these attributed to God, where as the orientational metaphors of down demonstrated the concepts such as: weakness, abjectness, torment and disgrace. The orientational metaphor of near has been expressed with demonstrative noun Hazehi that collocated with Hayat: It is observed in some verses that demonstrate the meanness of this world, the insistency on this and the effects and outcome of our actions in this world. This study shows the efficiency of modern theory of metaphor in analyzing the language of Quran that leads to a better understanding, translation and interpretation of quranic concepts

Abstract There is no one who has not thought of an important event of death, and has not made the most horrific images in his brain. Some images of death in mystical literature, especially in Mawlawi's Mathnawi, reflect Quranic imagery and thought. In this paper, we investigate the metaphors of death in Mathnawi in the context of conceptual metaphor theory through a descriptive analytic method. It was found that out of the three types of death (innate, voluntary, emergency) that Rumi refers to, there is no innate and voluntary death in the Qur'an, and only emergency death is referred to as vortex, life, fall, Sleep, drink, agents, and travel are reflected. But Rumi has used the Qur'an and portrayed the death scene in a variety of ways, such as the Nile, the flood, the sea, the judge, the colonel, the wolf, the fall, the planting of seed and its growth, the birth, maturity, release from prison, and jumping out of the river. All of these images have the concept of movement and fall under the metaphor of "Death is the journey of return". Keywords: Conceptual Metaphor, Death, Holy Quran, Mawlawi's Mathnawi.

Analyzing meanings on the basis of conceptual metaphors is a rather new approach in cognitive semantics. The authors of the present essay claim that Zamakhshari's explanations about the senses of prepositions show methodological and conceptual resemblance to the conceptual metaphor theory. In this research we aim to find out: 1. Dozamakhshari's explanations about the senses of علی follow a unified framework? 2. Does this framework show resemblance to conceptual metaphor theory? 3. Does analyzing the senses of prepositions employing the conceptual metaphor theory have contributions for the semantics of prepositions? To answer these questions the interpretations of twelve verses in which the preposition علیis used were analyzed on the basis of Kashshaf. Consequently we found out that Zamakhshari's explanations about the senses ofعلی in those verses showed theoretical uniformity and methodological and conceptual resemblance to the conceptual metaphor theory.

Cognitive semantics is the latest and at the same time the most prominent view among contemporary semantics theories which have been developed during the past four decades. This theory is so important that has drawn the attentions of different thinkers. What are the basics and the components of this theory? Can this view be seen as a justified paradigm in linguistics and semantics answerable to the problems of the domain of language and meaning? It is also important for Muslim scholars to see whether this theory can be an expressive and firm framework in reading the concepts of the Qur'an and the semantics of its educations. This paper, developed by analytical-comparative method, attempts to answer the above questions. The author, while reviewing the main elements of the theory of cognitive semantics, examines them particularly in the scientific philosophy perspective, and then measures the power and the capacity of this theory in representing the culture of the Holy Quran and its semantic realms
